School Post: Lincoln Movie Questions

Lincoln Movie Questions and Answers

Question 1) why did Lincoln need votes?
Answer: He needed the votes because in order to successfully pass the law, he needed people to vote.

Question 2) who were the people who voted?
Answer: The House of Representatives.

Question 3) Do you believe Lincoln's tactics for getting votes were honest?
Answer: Well, going to people personally and asking them to vote I think was pretty smart. I don’t see what's wrong with it. So I believe that it was pretty honest.

Question 4) Lincoln's son, Robert, was adamant that he go off to war. Why do you believe he wanted to do that. Do you agree about his decision even though his parents were against it?
Answer: Robert wanted to go to war because he thought it was the right thing to do. Since Robert is an adult, I agree with his decision to go to war because its his decision to go or not to go.

Question 5) The bill abolished slavery but it did not make black and whites equal. Why did they not fight for the right of equality at that time? Why was it only about slavery?
Answer: I think they didn't fight for equality because they were stretching it fighting for the freedom of slaves. Also because Abraham Lincoln didn't believe that blacks and whites were equal.

Poem

It was the worst day ever
I may never see my mother again forever
I was soon brought to a farm
Where my owner only wanted to cause harm

I worked in the fields all day
At night all I wanted to do is pray
I would try and send her a letter
Hoping the next day would get better

It was a rough and terrible life
I could have just ended it with a knife
Until I heard the news
That could get me out of this abuse

This news could set me free
Now I don’t have to run and flee
In a few days I will get to see my mother
And we will finally get to hug one another
