SUPER BOWL XLVIII

                    Super Bowl XLVIII

Super Bowl XLVIII was definitely a game to remember. The #1 offence of the year being the Denver Broncos and the #1 defense of the year being the Seattle Seahawks, this game had high expectations for the fans all across the world. After losing the Super Bowl against the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2005, the Seattle Seahawks were here in their 2nd Super Bowl appearance to try and achieve victory for the very first time in Seahawk franchise history. How the Seahawks made it to the Super Bowl, all started with the 2013 regular season.

After losing last year to the Atlanta Falcons in a playoff game, the Seattle Seahawks this year seemed to have a different championship like attitude toward their games. This new attitude was definitely shown by the Seahawks winning their first four games of the regular season. By the very end of their season, the Seahawks finished with 13 wins and 3 losses. With this great season score, this earned them a ticket to the divisional championship versus the New Orleans Saints at Seattle.

With this game being a tough battle for both teams all game, the Seahawks ended the game winning against the Saints 23-15. This would mean that the Seahawks would go against their divisional rivals, the Sanfrancisco 49ers, in the conference championship game, which would be hosted in Seattle. This game was a very violent and tough game for both teams. In the end, the Seahawks would barely win 23-17, with Richard Sherman tipping the ball up and being caught by the Seahawks in the end zone for an interception in the final seconds of the game. This play saved the Seahawks from being eliminated in the playoffs.

After the Seahawks won the big game, this would mean that the Seattle Seahawks would go to their second Super Bowl and try to achieve victory against the Denver Broncos. Super Bowl XLVIII would take place in the Met Life Stadium on February 2nd 2014. In the beginning of this remarkable game, the first play of the Super Bowl would result in two points for the Seahawks, from the Broncos snap being too high and ending up in the end zone for a safety. This play would also become an NFL record with it being the quickest score in Super Bowl history. This was one of the best ways to start off a super bowl, as long as you were a Seahawks fan. With the rest of the 1st quarter being summed up, after the remarkable safety, the Seahawks would kick 2 field goals for a total of 6 points. Going into the 2nd quarter leading 8-0, the Seahawks would then score 2 more touchdowns, one of them being a fantastic pick six by Seattle’s defensive linebacker, Malcom Smith.

The Seahawks would then score again in the same quarter from an insane touchdown by Seahawks Wide Receiver, Jermaine Kearse. Finally, after many struggles and fails, the Denver Broncos would finally score with a frustrated touchdown by Denver’s Wide Receiver, Demaryius Thomas, and a desperate two point conversion by Wes Welker.

With the 4th quarter finally expiring, this would mean that the Seattle Seahawks would finally win their very 1st Super Bowl 43-8! This blowout game was never expected, and it was all because of the Seahawks dedication and their championship driven attitude towards the game.

He had one of the best games of his life with 9 tackles, 1 interception, 69 yards, 1 touchdown, and 1 fumble recovery. Without the help and dedication of Malcom Smith, Russell Wilson, Doug Baldwin, and Marshawn Lynch, the Super Bowl would not have been the same. The Seahawks would return to Seattle with the Lombardi trophy for the first time ever, and would host a huge Super Bowl parade to display their great feat. Being the Seahawk’s first Super Bowl win, this would hopefully be the beginning of many Super Bowl victories to come
