🎬Movie Review/Questions🎬

Hidden in Silence.

Image result for hidden in silence movieYesterday, my family and I watched a few educational movies, one of them being a movie called Hidden in Silence. Hidden in silence was a movie about a 13 year old girl hiding 13 Jews in her attic for over 2 years while the holocaust and WWII were going on. Fusia, the 13 year old, faced many challenges trying to hide the Jews. This movie was my third favorite movie out of the three. I would rate this film 6/10, but I'm sure many people who find the holocaust and WWII interesting would like this film. Overall, not to bad and it was very educational.

The Sign of the Beaver.

Image result for the sign of the beaver movieThe second movie that we watched was a movie called The Sign of the Beaver. The movie was about a family from Springfield buying a claim and leaving their 13 year old son Matt at the claim so that no one will steal it. As Matt's family goes back home to pack, Matt is faced by many challenges. As life goes on, Matt starts to become friends with the local Indian tribe. With a sickness and winter striking Springfield, Matt's family won't be able to make it in time like they said they would. As winter comes into effect, Matt grows very worried that his family has left him for dead, and or have died. Soon, when the Indian tribe has left for winter Matt is all alone. As he is outside practicing his bow and arrow, he sees his family in the distance. This movie was probably my favorite out of the three we watched. I would rate it a 9/10. I thought it was very interesting and exciting.

A Field of Lost Shoes.

This movie was in the time era of the civil war and slavery. As the civil war gets closer and closer, the soldiers finally fight against an army at the New Market. This Movie was my second favorite out of the three. I would rate this movie 6.5/10. I thought it was very motivational and interesting.

Questions

  1. In what ways do you think the expectations of youth have changed in comparison to today's youth? I think it has changed a bit. Back in the day, children sometimes at the age of 11 had to take on big responsibility like how Matt had to watch over his family's claim so that no one would steal it.
  2. What are some character quality's that was shared between all three movies?  Courage, Bravery, forgiveness, and strength in the most hardest of times.
  3. Give three different situations where the character(s) made a hard decision that was above "being a teen" and tell the outcome would have been different if they had made a typical teen decision. One is how Matt decided to take care of his family's claim. If he had been to lazy or didn't want to do it, the claim probably would of been stolen. Second is if Fusia never of gotten a job, they all probably would of died of at least had a very hard time surviving. Lastly, If Matt's family had not of given up, Matt would probably die as well as the rest of the family.
  4. Which movie character did you most relate too and why? I think I am more like Matt because if I were in his situation, I probably would of done the same things that he did.
  5. What are some ways that you have been challenged in your thinking after watching these movies. I would say be more mature in some more serious things.
  6. Which story impacted you the most and why? Probably the holocaust movie just because Fusia never gave up no matter what challenges lied ahead.
  7. In the story you picked as the "most impactful" do you think you would have made the same choices as they did. I probably would not have hid Jews just because if I got caught, I would of been killed, it would be too risky.
