What does Gulliver Teach us about power?
Throughout the book, Gulliver goes through many unfamiliar places. Within all those places, they are ruled by kings or lords. Now, within having the position of ruling your land or kingdom, comes many responsibilities and power. Some kings handle power well, and some can't get enough of it. In many cases kings want more and more power until it destroys their kingdom and people. In Gulliver's Travels, this happens quite often. Kings driving their soldiers deeper and deeper into enemy territory to take people prisoner and treat them cruel like. In Gulliver's eyes, he sees's this as not right, and was even kicked out of Lilliput because he disagreed about the kings ruling and their methods of attack. Overall, Gulliver sees power as a responsibility, not a reason to treat a kingdom in such matter.
