TULIP: Irresistible Grace
This week, my family and I watched the last two sections in R.C Sproul's teachings about the TULIP. In the first video, he talked about Irresistible Grace, and how important it is to understand the concept and how it all ties into the five main points of Calvinism. From the beginning, R.C. Sproul told everyone that the term "irresistible grace" was a little misleading and could be interpreted wrongly, so he decided to call it effectual grace. As the video went on, R.C. Sproul told everyone what "effectual grace" was.
From what I learned, effectual grace is the grace that God gives the elect, and how this irresistible or effectual grace, cannot be rejected because the elect won't reject it because they have a hunger and are striving to learn and understand more about God. The reason why God doesn't give effectual grace to everyone is because the rest of the world would reject the amazing grace that God gives because they were not elect. Watching these short videos about TULIP has really helped me understand how all this works. Can't wait for the next one.
